Step 01
Do not insert a new sim card
Install mobile app
Download the MyMegatel mobile app. You can search "MyMegatel" on Google Playstore or App Store.
After installation
Login the MyMegatel app. Your username will be the registered email address, and you can create/reset a password by clicking “Forgot your Password” or “First time login”.
If you are switching your mobile number from another company, you can proceed to Step 2 when you are ready to switch.
Step 02
Do not insert a new sim card
Input the SIM card number
On the first screen of the MyMegatel app, click "Activate Your Number" and enter the last 6 digits of the SIM card you have received from Megatel.
For a Number Transfer - this can only be processed during
Monday-Friday 8am - 8pm
Saturday 9am - 5pm
*No porting on Sundays / Public holidays
For a New Connection - 24hours / 7 days
Step 03
Do not insert a new sim card
TCF number porting confirmation
TCF = NZ Telecommunications Forum Inc.
If you are transferring your mobile number from other provider, you will receive the following text message from TCF within 4 hours from the step 02.
You MUST reply "Yes" within 4 hours to consent to the transfer. Replying after 4 hours of receiving TXT will cause cancellation. You can also reply “No” to cancel.
No response from TCF? It means your reply was either timed-out or didn't reach TCF. Please make sure your existing sim card has not been removed from your mobile device.
Step 04
A new SIM card must be inserted after activation process is fully completed.
The below message is displayed when the activation has not been completed.
Please do not insert a new sim card and wait.
When the activation is complete, the mobile app will display as shown below.
Please insert a new SIM card
The new SIM card will not work until it is activated. For new customers, SIM card activation may take up to 4 hours, and after business hours activation may take longer. If it does not work even after the activation, remove the SIM card from the mobile device, reinsert it, and then reboot the mobile device again.
Once the activation process is completed, your monthly plan starts and you are now ready to use.
Please note that your mobile usage renews on the 26th of every month.
