Do I need to contact my current provider?

Article summary

Do I need to contact my current provider?

Yes, it’s your responsibility to contact your current service provider to advise them you’re switching to us and to cancel your account with them.

Most providers have 30 days notice period and it's also a good idea to check any Terms and Conditions you may have signed up to in case there is a specific notice period.

Please ask your current provider to continue to provide you with service until your service start date with us.

I have already notified my current provider about changing the service provider to you. Do you still contact my current provider?

For your energy service (power and gas), we send a switching request to your current (previous) energy service provider for the date you request. However, we do not directly get in touch with them about your account since this is your responsibility to contact your current (previous) provider about closing the account with them.

For your telecommunication service (broadband and mobile), we send a request to your current (previous) telecommunication service provider for the date you request. However, we do not directly get in touch with them about your account since this is your responsibility to contact your current (previous) provider about closing the account with them.
