What is ICP number?
Each premise has a unique ICP (installation control point) number that identifies it as an individual connection and how it is connected to the electricity network. ICP numbers are made up of 15 characters, for example, 0000123456NB7A0 and usually can be found from your power bill from an electricity retailer account or using your meter's serial number, for example, 7654321.
Your ICP number will not change when switching between two different electricity retailers and it is important to check ICP number to have electricity supplied to the correct address. We will ask for this information if you are switching from another retailer.
How can I check my ICP number?
I am switching from another provider
- If you are switching from another provider, you should be able to check ICP number from the recent bill.
It's my first time using power
- You can check your ICP number from our website (https://www.megatel.co.nz/shop/electricity) by entering your address.
I am not sure how to check my ICP number.
Please take a picture of your power meter (usually located on the wall outside your property) and send it to us at help@megatel.co.nz. If you can't find a power meter, you can check with a property manager or landlord if you are renting or leasing the premise.
