2. Confirm that Fibre Box (ONT) POWER & OPTICAL lights are on

5If the OPTICAL light is red, it indicates that your UFB order has not been completed yet. We will notify you of the order confirmation through a text message. You can also go to the MyMegatel App to check the order status.

3. Connect the Ethernet cable

Insert one end of the LAN cable into the WAN/LAN modem port of the modem, and plug the other end into the GE1-4(or LAN1 - 4) port of the Fibre Box (ONT).

Which Fibre Box (ONT) port should you connect to? Once your UFB order is completed, you will receive a text message informing you of the port to connect. (i.e. GE1 , GE2, or LAN1)Artboard 14@4x-100Artboard 15@4x-100

FAQ

Do I need a fibre connection?

Yes. Our TP-Link HX510 only work with a fibre connection. If you don't have fibre Internet at your place, we recommend getting it installed if available in your area.

What if I want to connect a VoIP home phone service?

Your VoIP home phone will work through ONT-ATA.

** ONT-ATA: You will need to plug a phone into either the POTS or TEL port on the Fibre Box (ONT) to use it. Please ensure that you have enough space to put the phone next to the Fibre Box (ONT).

How many LAN ports are on the HX510?

There are two LAN ports except for the WAN port that connects to the Fibre Box (ONT).

Is mesh system better than a range extender or repeater?

Wi-Fi extenders and repeaters can be beneficial in extending your wireless connection, but they function differently and may introduce new complications.

A repeater creates a new network connection by rebroadcasting your signal, requiring you to join a different network in various locations around your house. Although it can extend your Wi-Fi coverage, it can reduce your original network's bandwidth and be inconvenient when moving about your home.

An extender, on the other hand, doesn't generate a new network; instead, it connects to your network via a cable. Although using a wired connection won't affect your Wi-Fi bandwidth, it can be inconvenient if you don't want to install cables throughout your house.

We recommend a mesh system, like our HX510, that extends Wi-Fi connectivity using multiple nodes that work together to create a single, large network. This provides the best of both worlds by offering seamless wireless coverage and better overall performance.

Can Deco and HX510 models work together?

Unfortunately, these two devices are not compatible.
